Eating porcini mushrooms so good in winter has never happened to me... grilled as an appetizer, and homemade tagliolini with spectacular porcini mushrooms. The best in my life! We'll be back 👋👋👋👋
Fish and meat menu, good raw materials. I found the cut to be of good quality but the sautéed vegetables on the side were too dry and tasteless. The cold cuts and cheese platter is good but I expected more variety of cheeses. I found the dessert really not very sweet. Fast service. Limited covers and prices in line with the offer. Ultimately a nice location not too big in a modern style that is worth a visit.
Never again
Returning from the holiday in Tropea I arranged to break up the trip with an overnight stay in Cosenza and have dinner a few years later in this restaurant.
When I worked in Calabria it was a regular stop to taste raw tuna which I don't find so good in other places.
Here are the 8 reasons why I will never return, in chronological order:
1) we asked for advice on enjoying a raw-based menu, the answer was the menu, the chef stopped by twice without even a nod of greeting.
2) after the order reached the kitchen the chef went out to smoke and make phone calls, to the surprise of my 6 year old daughter.
3) we were brought a different dish than the one ordered (carpaccio in slices instead of cubes)
4) carpaccio cut badly (not the right way) because it was the final part, with a lot of oil and too much chilli
5) we were promised the basket with ice for the sparkling wine but it never arrived.
6) the first based on cuttlefish, courgettes and almonds, the last two without any flavour.
7) after the first one we should have evaluated the possible second one but other customers arrived and we were abandoned. The chef came out for them and helped carry the dishes.
8) after the waitress came by several times ignoring us they asked for the bill. At this point we were asked if we wanted anything else. We paid and left.
P.S. we enjoyed the dessert in a nearby restaurant where they were very kind.
Over the years I have recommended it to all my friends.
Management has certainly changed, I miss the old team of kind and professional young people, with them we would have spent more by adding more tuna, a sweet and bitter second course, with great satisfaction.
I found two photos of real Ferrocinto tuna
Simply the best in the whole area. Stunning location but above all you eat divinely with highly sought-after dishes from appetizers to desserts and a vast wine cellar.
The staff is truly professional and polite, let them advise you.
We were served by a girl named Giusy who was very nice and really quick in ordering but above all in explaining and recommending the dishes to be consumed.
A real delicacy is the cow ham and marinated tuna.
Desserts at the end of lunch or dinner are a must, truly enchanting things.
Excellent price/quality!
Very beautiful and elegant location. Friendly and very attentive staff. Medium-high prices, but the quality of the dishes is evident. They are all products of our territory starting from the wine, Ferrocinto, the true protagonist of the menu. The two of us had a mixed platter, two wild boar stews and a bottle of Terre di Cosenza wine. €50.
Class also in serving coffee in disposable containers... an obligatory stop for lovers of quality and good food
Everything wonderful
Located like few others in our region, excellent quality raw materials, chef Luigi is a guarantee and Miriana never loses sight of anyone in the dining room!!!!
This place is very positive, the quality for the price is right and everything is cooked impeccably, one dish above all is the dark brown risotto and wine reduction 🍷 to taste
